The Partnership runs as an annual engagement because the value compounds over a full cycle, but you're not locked in if it isn't working. Billing is monthly, and either of us can give 60 days' notice to wind down. I'd always rather have a client who's staying because the work is worth it than one who feels trapped by a contract.

That's expected, and it's one of the advantages of a standing relationship. Some years the report is bigger, a new framework comes into scope, or there's an investor day or rebrand to fold in; other years it's lighter. We review scope at each annual renewal and adjust the retainer up or down to match what the cycle actually needs.
